EXPLORE! Project: Direct Detection of Self-Interacting Dark Matter models
In this project we analyzed data from the cosmological EAGLE simulations of self-interacting dark matter (including baryons). We examined the dark matter density and velocity distribution of Milky Way-like galaxies to improve the interpretation of dark matter (direct and indirect) detection experiments.
My name is Lukas Arda and I am a bachelor's student in the DMGW group. My research interests lie in the field of astrophysics and cosmology. This includes in particular dark matter studies and the variety of information obtainable through gravitational waves. Currently I am working on my thesis about the gravothermal collapse of dark matter halos with a central mass. Aside from my research in theoretical physics, I am leading a beginner lab course at the Insitute Of Physics.
